Yahoo has posted a sneak peek of its upcoming iPhone Messenger application. According to the marketing text, you can now take “the best of Messenger with you, wherever you are.” Leaving aside any allergic reactions you might have to the abuse of the color purple, how does the new application seem to hold up?
The app looks reasonably well-designed for the iPhone screen, reminiscent of the already available AIM application. You start with a scrolling list of contacts, along with their avatars and status, which you can click to enter a conversation screen. That screen, with its back and forth messages, looks like the iPhone SMS app and uses talk bubbles to present the conversation.
